This was a very powerful memoir about Polish Jewish born Sam Pivnik s life When sent to Auschwitz all his family except for himself and a brother were murdered I think his strength n surviving was that he was young Just a teenage boy at the time he was physically and mentally strong he says that often some luck was He says that often some luck was n his survival but he definitely had his share of starvation beatings and even sexual abuse Fortunately after all the horror after WWII Pivnik reunites with his brother Nathan Although he was a Zionist he ended up living a great deal of his *life The North American Journals of Prince Maximilian of Wied: April–September 1833 in Europen London and made a success of himself owning * in Europe n London and made a success of himself owning art gallery I am glad that Pivnik shares his frank historical and yet very sad storyI have read many Holocaust memoirs and every time I read one ncluding Pivnik s book I am moved by the strength these ndividuals had to survive am moved by the strength these ndividuals had to survive Nazis were bullies as were their supporters I realized that although often not as extreme still there are abusive bullies Mr. Monk and the New Lieutenant in the world and this story reallys just as much about today as No Will of My Own: How Patriarchy Smothers Female Dignity Personhood its about the 1930s and 1940s Really fascinatingReally enjoyed reading this book A little slow on places but stick with Armagnac: The Definitive Guide To France's Premier Brandy itHow people survived this periods beyond me This was uite an eye opening readYoung Sam s only 13 wh.
